Trotec T4000 Moisture Detection Expert Kit

The Trotec T4000 Restorers Kit is a professional moisture detection package built around the T4000 Multifunctional Measuring Device — giving water damage restorers everything they need to detect, measure, document, and report moisture across a wide range of materials and conditions, all in one carry case. Replacing a toolbox full of individual instruments, this kit combines non-destructive capacitive scanning, invasive pin measurement, climate monitoring, and surface temperature sensing with the T4000's Bluetooth connectivity and standalone data logging capabilities.

The Brain: Trotec T4000 Multifunctional Measuring Device

The T4000 is the hub of the kit. It accepts the full range of SDI sensors and BNC electrodes included here, displaying all readings on its 2.7" colour TFT display with scratch-resistant Panda Glass. Data is stored on internal flash and expandable microSD, and transfers wirelessly via Bluetooth to the MultiMeasure Mobile app — no PC required on site. Auto-calibration, XY-graph visualisation, screenshot documentation, and screed readiness material selection are all built in.

Sensors Included

The TS670 SDI is a capacitive dielectric sensor for fast, non-destructive near-surface moisture scanning in walls, floors, and ceilings to a depth of up to 40mm. It connects to the T4000 via the TC40 cable (included) and is unaffected by salt content in building materials — critical for accurate readings post-flood.

The TS250 SDI is a stainless steel climate sensor measuring relative humidity, absolute humidity, dew point, and air temperature. Its stainless steel construction gives it superior resistance to dust and contaminants compared to standard hygrometer sensors, making it ideal for checking whether environmental conditions are optimal for dehumidifiers and heat drying equipment on site.

The TS131/150 SDI is a surface temperature sensor for precise contact temperature readings on walls, floors, and structural materials — particularly useful when paired with conductivity paste for improved accuracy on uneven or porous surfaces.

Electrodes and Probes

The TS60 Hand Electrode connects to the T4000 via the TC20 BNC cable (included) for invasive resistance-based moisture measurement in timber, building materials, and concrete. The included non-insulated electrode multi-pack covers a range of surface measurement applications.

The TS070 Hammer Probe drives electrodes deep into timber framing, joists, and structural members for accurate in-depth moisture readings. Ten 60mm insulated pins are included, measuring only at the tip to isolate readings to the depth of penetration.

Insulated paddles extend the reach of the hand electrode into cavities and tight spaces. Brush electrodes are designed for highly porous materials such as concrete, where standard pin electrodes make poor contact — the brush distributes contact across a wider surface for a more reliable reading without requiring contact mass compound. Conductivity paste is also included for applications where it is required to improve contact and measurement accuracy on dense or uneven surfaces.

The TP7 is a professional infrared thermometer with multi-point laser targeting for fast, non-contact surface temperature measurements across large areas. Use it to quickly identify cold spots on walls and ceilings that may indicate moisture-related thermal bridging, or to verify surface temperatures before and after drying.
